WISN – Pewaukee High School retires JJ Watt’s High School Jersey

Picture 2A native of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Watt attended Pewaukee High School, where he was a four-year letterman and two-year starter in football, also lettering twice in basketball and baseball and once in track and field. The Pirates recognized his accomplishments as a permanent part of their history by retiring his former high school jersey. “Humbled & honored to be returning to Pewaukee tonight to have my jersey retired. Former Pewaukee four-sport star JJ Watt was recognized as his high school retired his jersey in front of a home crowd in the opening round of the Pirates 2013 season playoffs. “As a kid growing up in this city, you don’t really dream about playing in the NFL, you don’t really dream about playing for the Badgers. What I dreamt about was playing on this field on Friday nights,” Watt told the Journal Sentinel, “to have my jersey retired and know I have a place in Pewaukee history means a lot to me.” Article.

Pewaukee High School to honor JJ Watt by retiring his jersey this Friday

As reported by 620WTMJ and TODAY’S TMJ4′s Lance Allan, the Friday night lights at Pewaukee High this week will be shining on JJ Watt, as his alma mater honors the current NFL defensive end, and former Wisconsin badger, by retiring his high school jersey number. The game time is 7 pm with the jersey retirement ceremony taking place at halftime.  Congratulations JJ on your success both on and off the field!

JJ Watt Foundation 5K Run/Walk Featured in Milwaukee Sun

Thanks to the Milwaukee Sun for shining the light on the success of the 3rd Annual JJ Watt Foundation 5K Run/Walk held in Pewaukee, WI, on June 22. This year we had our highest number of participants yet, and we’re looking forward to giving all of the funds raised to continue the foundation’s mission of supporting after-school athletic programs for children.

High-fives and a huge round of applause to everyone who came out for the third annual JJ Watt 5K Run/Walk this year, held at Waukesha County Technical College!  We could not be more stoked to have JJ back in his hometown, and to see the support continue to grow from year to year.  All of the funds raised will go towards after-school athletic programs both locally in Wisconsin, and down in Texas.
