Funds from JJWF helps sports program

After attending the JJ Watt Charity Classic this past April which raised over $300,000 to support the foundation’s mission of providing after-school opportunities for children in the community, Matagorda Elementary sixth grade teacher Moria Gesford was able to turn around and help her own school receive a grant from the foundation to fund new sports equipment. JJ Watt Featured in Monday Night Football Spot

In anticipation of the start of the 44th season of Monday Night Football, ESPN’s “It All Comes Down to Monday Night” campaign returns, with a spot featuring our very own Houston Texans’ defensive end JJ Watt! The 30-second ad is narrated by Watt with references to NFL legend Ken Norton Jr., former 13-time All Star Ken Griffey, Jr., and features a cameo by singer Kenny Loggins. My Story: Saluting the SEALs –

Picture 10Some people look to NFL players as heroes, but for JJ Watt, the real heroes are the individuals who risk their lives every day to serve our country. In the most recent “My Story” video profiling JJ’s trip with the NFL-USO tour to Afghanistan, Watt talks about what it was like going inside a Chinook helicopter, knowing that in 2011, one of them was shot down, causing 22 SEALs to lose their lives in the process.
